Dr. Ken Fisher grew up in Stamford, CT and has lived in Washington, DC; Andover, MA; Seattle, WA; Berkeley, CA; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. He earned a B.A. at Dartmouth College. Before attending veterinary school at the University of California – Davis, Dr. Fisher spent many years as a high school biology teacher, including two years teaching at the American school in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Fisher moved to Pittsburgh where he worked in emergency veterinary medicine. He now lives in Squirrel Hill with his wife, Amanda; two children, Marina and Benjamin; 2 cats, Bellatrix, and Blue; and a dog, Luna. Although he spends most of his free time with family activities, Dr. Fisher also enjoys hiking, camping, running, and winter sports. He has a growing interest in volunteering at sled-dog races.
Dr. Annie Berner is a Pittsburgh native raised in Monroeville. She graduated from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA with a dual BS in cell and molecular biology and organismal biology. From there, she went on to The Ohio State University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After graduating from vet school, Dr. Berner practiced large and small animal medicine in Ohio where she gained loves for surgery, ophthalmology, and dermatology. Dr. Berner moved back to Pittsburgh (she just couldn’t stay away!) with her husband, Jonathan, in 2010. They have two children, Julian and Jacob, and a Boxer named Daphne. All of them love being outside and enjoy spending free time hiking, biking, and swimming. Dr. Berner and her family also enjoy good books and good food. In recent years, Dr. Berner has developed an interest in animal behavior and fear-free patient interactions. She is excited to be a part of the EEVMC team and looks forward to the honor of working with you and your pets.
Dr. Elizabeth Nagle joined EEVMC in the spring of 2015. She originally moved to the Pittsburgh area in the early 80’s after receiving a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Over the years her primary focus has been on canine and feline medicine. In her spare time she spends time with her husband and their 2 sons, 2 dogs and 2 cats. When she can find time, she also enjoys reading, needlework and yoga. She is excited to be a part of the staff at EEVMC and has enjoyed meeting and working with all the clients and their pets.
Dr. Alexa Cramer grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. She has wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as she can remember! She graduated from The University of Pittsburgh in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Ecology and Evolution and a minor in Chemistry. From there, she went on to The University of Pennsylvania and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2022. Throughout veterinary school, Dr. Cramer developed special interests in surgery, cardiology, and dermatology. Upon graduation, she moved back to Pittsburgh to practice here at East End Veterinary Medical Centre, where she previously worked as a veterinary technician. Dr. Cramer likes hiking, reading, doing yoga, and cuddling with her cat, Peaches, in her free time. On the weekends, Dr. Cramer and her partner enjoy exploring the city and trying new restaurants and breweries. Dr. Cramer is most looking forward to building strong client and patient relationships at EEVMC. She is excited to meet you and care for your beloved pets!
Dr. Becky Ortiz grew up in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Penn State in 2016 with a degree in Animal Science before receiving her veterinary degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. She has previously worked as an assistant at a small animal general practice, a zoo intern, and an assistant at the Penn State Deer Pens. Dr. Ortiz is new to Pittsburgh, but fell in love with the city through her fiancé, Dan, a Pittsburgh native. They currently have one opinionated cat, Libby, who runs their lives. Her professional interests include fear free, surgery, and oncology. In her free time, Dr. Ortiz loves to bake, hike, explore breweries, and work on puzzles. She is excited to be joining the EEVMC team and is looking forward getting to know you and your pets!
